Things I learn along the way

March 4, 2015

It’s been almost 2 months since I last wrote. I keep running into this or that and I don’t write. I make up an excuse why I’m not writing even a little something.  I don’t think of myself skilled as a writer and don’t even necessarily take pleasure in it. However it does help me process the events in my day.  Personally I find it amazing.

The same is true for other things I my life as well.  I’ve been lax in exercising. I’ve not been spending time with friends. I’ve not gone to see a play.  I have season tickets so there’s no money coming out of my pocket now. I’ve not been on a hike recently.  So many things don’t seem to happen and I’m not exactly sure why.  I don’t or can’t focus is one of the reasons that keep coming to mind.

Now as I look back I use the word excuse because there really isn’t anyone or anything holding me back except for myself. I find that I often fall into these ruts. Afterward I am able to say and see that I didn’t take charge and do the things I love or the things that simply need done. I do want to give myself credit for the fact that my turnaround is getting quicker. I see my behavior(s) sooner and I’m making action plans to change and improve my shortcomings.

Today I received some good news and it’s added a positive spin on my day.  That positive spin is helping me look at this and say “I can do it” and it’s really just about doing one small step.  I can do one step.  One small step is easy, right?

Tonight I’ve taken some time to write my thoughts down and I’m going to publish them.  This isn’t a huge accomplishment but it is a habit that I need to create.  Even if it’s small and say I list three things I’m grateful for today.  That is a step forward in making my writing this blog a habit.  Sometimes the word habit and be bad.  As in a bad habit.  In this case it’s a good thing and it’s going to help me.  This habit will help me process and carry out larger goals.

So if you think you can’t do something, think again.  Take just a small piece or step forward in your life.  Just one small step will help you prove to yourself that you can do it.  You can carry out your dreams and you can do anything you set up mind to today and in the future.

I’m grateful for my life.  I’m grateful for a wonder person who loves me for exactly who I am.  I’m happy that I have friends who love me and think I’m a special person.  To the universe I say thank you for providing opportunities and a wonderful life.

Thank you!
